Turgutreis

The beach resort of Turgutreis is situated on the western tip of the Bodrum peninsula in south west Turkey and offers spectacular views out over the Aegean Sea. Turgutreis has a traditional centre with plenty of excellent hotels, apartments, restaurants and bars, and is the ideal choice for a family holiday in Turkey. The town has a lively market on Saturday’s selling pottery, leather goods, clothing and local food produce. Historic Kadikalesi is just four kilometres north along the coast from Turgutreis and is worth visiting for more excellent beaches and breath-taking scenery typical of the region. Regular buses also connect Turgutreis with the region’s main city of Bodrum, and in high season coaches for Istanbul and Ankara leave from the Turgutreis bus station.
